Leadership Boise Program News

Leadership Boise celebrated the graduation of the class of 2021-2023 at The Grove Hotel on May 31st.  Graduates, their families, friends and co-workers enjoyed a reception, dinner and keynote address from Judge Peter Barton (LB Alum, class of 2012).  The event was sponsored by First Interstate Bank.  Special thanks to Jeff Huhn, Southern Idaho Market President at First Interstate Bank, for his enthusiastic support of the LB Program.   The LB Alumni Association saw a record number of alumni attend to celebrate the grads and reunite with old friends made through the LB experience. 
 
Melissa Schug and Bryan Furlong of Idaho First Bank (LB Alumni’s 2023 Program Sponsor) awarded four Leadership Awards on behalf of the Alumni Association.  The honorees were:  Don Murray, VP at Dental Dental and President of the Board for the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, winning in the category of Social Responsibility; Cory Rodrigues, Executive Director, accepting on behalf of Wyakin Foundation for the Non-Profit Excellence Award, Shire Hotvedt, Event Manager, Boise Center, and outgoing President of the LB Alumni Association for the Distinguished Alumni Award, and Lee Scott, Unleashing Leaders, for the Legacy of Leadership for his outstanding contributions to the Leadership Boise Program (as President) and the Leadership Boise Academy Program, 2022-2023.

The new Leadership Boise class of 2023-2025 has been selected and will launch in August.  Names, titles and companies will be announced September 1st.  Industries represented by Chamber member businesses in the new LB class include:  Architecture, Construction, Engineering, Real Estate, Development, Government, Finance/Banking, Law-Mediation, Healthcare, Non-Profit, Manufacturing, Education, Consulting and Insurance.
