Leadership Boise Academy

WHAT IS LB ACADEMY?
A SEMESTER-LONG PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR LEADERS

Leadership Boise Academy (LBA) was formed in 1984 by the Boise Metro Chamber to educate a diverse group of high school students and provide an opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of current issues and opportunities in our community.

The Academy aims to motivate high school juniors by offering a dynamic learning opportunity through active engagement with current and emerging community leaders in the business, corporate and non-profit sector from across the Treasure Valley. Through the program, students are encouraged to become more involved in addressing the critical issues facing our community and the role they can play in ensuring the success of the Boise Metro region.

  • Leadership Boise Academy is open to all schools/juniors in the Treasure Valley
  • LBA is a fully-funded program by the Boise Metro Chamber Foundation; there is no cost to the participant
  • Our transportation pick-up and return locations are Roaring Springs, Capital High School, and Boise High
    • Transportation by bus to the monthly full-day sessions is mandatory
  • LB Academy students attend monthly Leadership/Civic topic sessions with the adults in the LB program
  •  Graduates of the LB Academy program have the option to apply to be Youth Ambassadors to the new LBA class
  • Graduates of the LBA program have the option to apply for a $2,000 Boise Metro Chamber Foundation Educational Scholarship (while in their Senior Year of HS)

LB ACADEMY TESTIMONIALS

"I participated in Leadership Boise Academy as a high school student and I still remember the LBA days so clearly. It really made an impact on me and helped me understand a diverse set of career possibilities. Excited for Riverstone students to be a part of it!"

Student Life & Support Coordinator, Riverstone International School
