Job Title: Idaho COBS Board Member
About Us: Idaho COBS is dedicated to expanding the accessibility of safety, stabilization, and trauma-informed care to victims of human trafficking, and those at risk, through education, awareness, and direct services. We currently provide the only safe housing for survivors of human trafficking in the state. Our work impacts some of the most vulnerable victims of crime.
Position Overview: We are seeking dedicated individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring its financial stability, and advancing its mission. You will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise, network, and passion for our cause to make a meaningful difference.
Key Responsibilities: ● Strategic Planning: Develop and refine organizational goals. ● Governance: Ensure compliance and ethical standards. ● Financial Oversight: Review financial health. ●
Fundraising and Development: Support fundraising efforts. ● Advocacy and Networking: Represent the organization. ● Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks. ● Board Participation: Attend and engage in meetings and events. ● Ambassadorship: Promote our mission externally
Qualifications:
● Commitment to our mission. ● Previous nonprofit board or relevant leadership experience. ● Expertise in finance, fundraising, governance, legal, marketing, strategic planning, or advocacy. ● Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking skills. ● Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. ● Time and energy for meetings and other responsibilities.
Time Commitment:
● Attend monthly board meetings (in person in Meridian, ID or virtual is acceptable). The term length for board members is 4 years, reflecting the depth and complexity of our mission. In addition to general board responsibilities, we particularly need assistance with public trainings, fundraising, and strengthening community connections, which may also add to the time commitment.
