![]() Boise Young Professionals, a Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce program, is proud to announce its inaugural YP Summit, entitled “Empowering the Leaders of Tomorrow.” The half-day conference will provide professional development and learning opportunities with interactive presentations, training sessions, and engagement with community leaders. The conference will be held on Wednesday, December 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Boise Centre East. Following the conference, Boise Young Professionals will host an optional networking happy hour at Lucky Fins and a night cheering on the Idaho Steelheads. Three keynotes are slated for the summit, including one from Boise Mayor Lauren McLean. McLean will speak about Growing Leaders in a City for Everyone. The second keynote will be given by Adán De La Paz, founder of De La Paz Education Services, who will speak about Reimagining Leadership: Awareness to Action. The final keynote will be a panel-style presentation on Career Coaching and Company Culture, featuring Allison Bruce of TalentSpark and Chris Taylor of Fisher’s Technology. It will be moderated by Katie Gaston of Givelify, who also serves as the current Chair of Boise Young Professionals. Breakout sessions are a highlight of the event. In the first of two breakout sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to choose between two panels of local business and organizational leaders. One of the panels will discuss Workplace Needs, Opportunities and the Local Economy, while the other will discuss Community Engagement and Volunteerism. The second breakout session will offer attendees the opportunity to hear Paul Hales of MassMutual speak about Vision: Build your ‘Something’ and Financial Planning, or attendees can choose to hear Dale Dixon of the Better Business Bureau talk about how to Communicate Confidently. Attendees can update their headshots for free at the event, thanks to the event headshot sponsor, the Better Business Bureau. A limited number of scholarships are available, which will cover the cost of the conference and the Idaho Steelheads networking event following the conference, a $125 value. The scholarship application can be found on the event website. Scholarship applications will be accepted through Sunday, December 4. The YP Summit is not limited to “young” professionals. Professionals of any age are encouraged to attend. Registration discounts are available for college and university students and for members of the Boise Young Professionals organization.
