On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the Boise Metro Chamber held its annual Holiday Reception with Elected Officials. This event is an opportunity to meet and greet elected officials including state officers, area legislators, mayors, county commissioners and other county officials, community college trustees, school board members, highway commissioners and auditorium district directors.
The event is also an opportunity for Boise Metro Chamber members and leadership to thank elected officials throughout the state for their public service. For some, this night was the last night they held office, as a new slate of state legislators was sworn in the morning of December 1st. Some legislators faced competitive primary election races this year, after a redistricting process resulted in several head-to-head primary matchups of incumbents. Primary election results yielded 20 incumbent state legislator losses. More than 40 of the 105 legislators sworn-in on December 1 did not serve in the Idaho Legislature in 2022. Others retired, such as Idaho Secretary of State Lawrence Denney, who will pass the torch to Secretary of State-elect, Phil McGrane, who currently serves as Ada County Clerk. Both Denney and McGrane were in attendance at the reception. The event was well-attended and exceptional food and drinks were provided by the Boise Centre. This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, who we wish to thank: Presenting Sponsor: Idaho Finance & Housing Association Sponsors: Boise Centre, Verizon Wireless and Intermountain Gas. Co-Sponsors: Regence Blue Shield of Idaho, Republic Services, Idaho Power and Alaska Airlines.
