Vice President of Government and Community Relations Mat Erpelding gives us an update on the recent Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program. The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program provides an additional $1 billion for state unemployment programs. It provides up to 39 weeks of UI and includes people not otherwise eligible for regular unemployment compensation, including self employed or “gig workers.” Governor Little has taken multiple steps through the executive order to move Idaho into alignment with the new federal law. This includes waiving the weeklong waiting period before applying to unemployment and exempting the chargeback and employer rating impacts.
