The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce has contracted Sarah Bettwieser, owner of Cygnet, LLC, to lead government affairs efforts for the upcoming legislative session. Sarah has been contracted to advocate for nearly 1,900 business community members in the metro area in her new role with the Boise Metro Chamber. “Sarah is one of the most respected political influencers in the State,” said Boise Metro Chamber President and CEO Bill Connors. “We are thrilled to have Sarah on our side as we work with the Idaho legislature to keep our state one of the most business-friendly states in the nation,” Connors said. Bettwieser is an Idaho native with more than a decade of legislative experience in health care, telecommunications, insurance, banking, finance and other business issues. She is a graduate of Boise State University with a degree in business administration. In addition to her work in government affairs, Sarah served as the Executive Director of the Idaho Governor’s Cup Scholarship Fund from 2015-2019, where she worked to secure roughly a million dollars annually in scholarships and donations. “I am thrilled for the opportunity to assist the Boise Chamber in advancing meaningful policy measures on behalf of Idaho's business community,” Bettwieser said. “I look forward to working alongside the Chamber's leadership team and membership to inform policymakers of the critical function the Chamber plays in making Idaho a desired place for businesses to operate.” The Boise Metro Chamber is an influential voice at the Idaho legislature due to its strong advocacy efforts on behalf of its members and the business community. Industry leaders conduct thoughtful and robust discussions at the Boise Metro Chamber’s councils, committees and advisory board meetings in the areas of healthcare, food and agriculture, transportation, nonprofits, education and workforce, travel, and small business throughout the year. The Chamber also has an engaged policy committee, which meets regularly throughout the legislative session. Lilly Mosquera, Gift Shop & Visitor Information Coordinator, opens the Boise Metro Chamber Gift Shop In 2018, when the Boise Metro Chamber built its current location on Front Street, a room was designed to one day become a visitor information center and gift shop. In October 2022, that vision became a reality through a partnership with the Boise Centre, where the visitor information center was formerly located.
On October 10th, the Boise Metro Chamber and Visit Boise held a soft opening for the Gift Shop & Visitor Information Center. A plethora of area information and items for purchase are available in the Boise-themed shop: swag from Boise State University, the University of Idaho, Ward Hooper, Idaho Candy Company, and much more. The gift shop sells items from members of the Boise Metro Chamber to serve as a conduit to those who live, work and visit Boise. Gift Shop Hours: Monday through Thursday 9 am - 3 pm, and Friday 9 am - 2 pm. Visitor information is available: Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 8 am - 3 pm. Special thanks to Lilly Mosquera, Gift Shop & Visitor Information Coordinator, for all of her hard work leading up to the shop’s opening! Join us as we celebrate the opening of the gift shop and information center with a Ribbon Cutting and Open House on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 4:00 p.m., at 1101 W Front Street! Please help us share the news about this great resource for residents and visitors alike! |
