Anonymous Donor to Give $60,000 to Boise Small Businesses
BOISE, ID –The Boise Metro received a donation of $60,000 that will be distributed to a diverse group of small businesses in the Boise valley on behalf of an anonymous donor.
The anonymous benefactor is a long time Chamber member who selected sixty Chamber small businesses that could use additional cash flow to keep their operations alive through this crisis. The donor asked the Chamber to distribute sixty $1,000 checks to the selected businesses. The checks are being distributed with a letter from Boise Metro Chamber President and CEO, Bill Connors, addressing the generous donation from the benefactor.
“We have been seeing acts like this at other Chambers across the nation whereby a generous benefactor wants to inject some much-needed cash into local small businesses. The donor stressed his desire to give back to small Chamber-member companies, as they have been supporting their local community and chamber through this crisis, and others. He told us that he just wants to be part of the recovery that gets us all to get back to work,” said Connors.
Over a span of a few weeks, businesses have experienced a dramatic decline in business activity and decreased revenues due to COVID-19. The Boise Metro Chamber has been working with members that have been impacted by COVID-19 and giving guidance to the resources provided under the CARES Act. The Boise Metro Chamber also lobbied to support the $350 billion Paycheck Protection Program, as well as the additional funding coming this week.
