In October 2023, MONOPOLY puts Boise on the board. Boise residents will be able to play the world’s most popular board game in a way that pays tribute to the iconic landmarks in the City of Trees. Boise is among an elite group of places chosen, including Brooklyn, Kansas City, and Scottsdale, to get its very own edition of the iconic game.
From today until October 1st, Boise residents can voice which locations they would like to see featured on the board by submitting it to the official Boise MONOPOLY email, [email protected]. MONOPOLY: Boise Edition will feature locally themed squares to replace Boardwalk and Park Place from the original Atlantic City MONOPOLY board. In addition, they will include customized “Community Chest” and “Chance” playing cards, making the entire game unique to Boise. A few squares will also be dedicated to Boise-specific parks, monuments, museums, and more. Top Trumps, manufacturers of the official Boise version of MONOPOLY under license from global branded entertainment leader Hasbro, say the game will be on shelves starting in October of this year. Aaron Green, a representative from Top Trumps, said: “We want to ensure that the MONOPOLY: Boise Edition is an accurate portrayal of what locals love about their city, so we would love for everyone to get on board and send us their recommendations of what they would like to see included. Everything is up for consideration – Bogus Basin, BSU Broncos, Camel’s Back Park, the Greenbelt; we want to know your Boise favorites that must be on the board – so please get involved!” Bill Connors, President & CEO of the Boise Metro Chamber, joined the announcement and said: “A Boise version of the beloved MONOPOLY game is a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together, and it is a reflection of the vibrancy of our city. From the Greenbelt to the Foothills and everything in between, let’s work together to make this game emblematic of what it means to live and work in the City of Trees.” **Update: The Monopoly: Boise Edition board game is now available for sale at the Boise Chamber Gift Shop | Visit Boise Information Center ** Comments are closed.
