A race for the entire family! Come run (or walk) the beautiful greenbelt with start/finish at Reid Merrill Park! 10k/5k course options and a kids dash for the young ones! There will be finisher medals, winner prizes and all registered racers will receive a free t-shirt. All proceeds from the Treasure Valley Rescue Run will go to Operation Underground Railroad, an organization committed to rescuing children from sex trafficking and exploitation.

East Idaho Credit Union broke ground in Meridian on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023. East Idaho Credit Union was established in 1935 originally serving the postal community then quickly moving into serving all East Idaho. East Idaho Credit Union has stood strong through many economic struggles of our country and continues to be a pillar of strength for their members.  

On Tuesday local leaders expressed their excitement for the growing credit union to plan roots in Meridian. Sean Evans, President and CEO of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce, stated “We are so pleased that (East Idaho Credit Union) is choosing Meridian as their expansion location.” Along with Sean Evans, Mayor Simison, the Mayor of Meridian, stated “Being from East Idaho myself, I think its great when all things East Idaho put roots in the Treasure Valley. We really appreciate the fact that you’ve chosen Meridian, it’s the smartest business decision you will ever make.”

East Idaho’s CEO, Dan Thurman, expressed his excitement to move into Meridian. Thurman stated “Meridian is a central point for the Treasure Valley, and such a beautiful area. We have strong roots in the Treasure Valley, and we are excited about it.”

Camp Invention®, a nationally recognized, nonprofit summer enrichment program, is coming to Sage International School the week of July 10 -July 14, 2023.

A program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame®, in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Camp Invention challenges children in grades K-6 to tap into their natural curiosity and use their creativity to solve problems. Through hands-on activities, Camp Invention promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning; builds confidence, leadership, perseverance and resourcefulness; and encourages entrepreneurship - all in a fun and engaging environment.

Each year, the program features a new curriculum inspired by some of our nation's most world-changing inventors - the National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees. This year's Wonder program encourages children to be confident in their ideas and explore their innovativeness though hands-on activities including:

Catching Air™: Taking a confidence-building ride through physics, engineering and art, children design and build their own skate park.
Invention Celebration™: Campers take on the role of event planners as they throw a party celebrating creativity and innovation.
MimicBot™: Children show their unique style when they transform a robot that mimics sounds into a one-of-a-kind animatronic stuffie.
Pop-Up Venture™: Big ideas come to life as campers design their own mini pop-up business.

"Both of my kids loved Camp Invention! They loved having the opportunity to create, innovate and iterate what they had learned," said the parent of 2022 Camp Invention campers. "They were intensely proud to tell of their work each day and to showcase their projects at the end of the week."

All local Camp Invention programs are facilitated and taught by qualified educators who reside and teach in the community.
