Winter Garden aGlow Celebrates 29 Years with 850,000 Lights Illuminating a Boise Holiday Tradition11/4/2025
Boise, Idaho — November 3, 2025 — The Idaho Botanical Garden invites the Treasure Valley community to experience one of the region’s most beloved holiday traditions as Winter Garden aGlow returns for its 29th season. From late November through December, the Garden will sparkle with more than 850,000 lights, transforming its winter landscape into a glowing celebration of joy, community, and connection. What began nearly three decades ago as a small neighborhood event has grown into one of Boise’s signature seasonal experiences and the Garden’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting plant conservation, education, and community programs throughout the year. “Every light tells a story — of the people who visit, the memories made, and the community that keeps this tradition shining,” said Erin Anderson, Executive Director of the Idaho Botanical Garden. “Winter Garden aGlow isn’t just about lights; it’s about supporting a place that connects people to nature and to one another all year long.” New in 2025 This year’s Winter Garden aGlow introduces several fresh experiences that invite guests to see the Garden in a new light:

Lighting the Way Forward As the Garden’s largest annual fundraiser, Winter Garden aGlow directly supports educational programming, sustainable horticulture, and community events year-round. The event embodies the Idaho Botanical Garden’s mission to connect people, plants, and place, and to celebrate the natural beauty that thrives even in winter. “Winter Garden aGlow has become a Boise tradition because it reminds us what’s possible when a community invests in something lasting,” said Anderson. “Each visit helps ensure the Garden continues to grow, inspire, and give back all year long.” About Idaho Botanical Garden Located in the heart of Boise, the Idaho Botanical Garden cultivates a love of nature through plant collections, education, art, and community events. Join the 10th Annual United Way Book Drive – Help Kids Build a Brighter Future!
Reading by third grade is a game-changer. It’s the #1 predictor of a child’s future success in school and life. Before third grade, kids learn to read—after third grade, they read to learn. But 61% of families facing financial instability don’t have books at home, making it harder for children to build strong literacy skills. That’s where you come in. The Children’s Book Drive is a community-wide effort to put books into the hands of kids who need them most. Led by United Way of Treasure Valley in partnership with Book it Forward! Idaho, this initiative collects and distributes books to children across Idaho. From early learning centers and Title I schools to juvenile detention centers, we're getting books into the hands of children who need them. Our goal: 25,000 books. With your help, we can get there! Donate new or gently used children’s books to help ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. We encourage book donations in all languages! Drop off your books between March 1st through March 27th at any Treasure Valley Albertsons, CapEd or WaFd. Check our website for additional information on how you can make an impact! https://www.unitedwaytv.org/ChildrensBookDrive2025 WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jim Risch, senior member and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, announced the selection of the Stagecoach Inn in Garden City as the Idaho Small Business of the Month for February 2025. “The Stagecoach Inn has been a feature of Idaho’s political and social landscape for decades,” said Risch. “This Treasure Valley institution has been around since 1959 and is now owned by Wanda Martinat and Fred and Francie Oliver.
