Cultural Performers & Advertising for Youth Ambassadors

11/4/2020

Cultural Performers
Cultural performers from across the United States and its territories can apply to represent their region as ambassadors of U.S. culture at the World Expo in Dubai October 2021 - April 2022. Cultural performers can be representatives from any of the following categories: cinema/film, culinary arts, dance (Tap, modern, classical, breakdance, etc.), E-sports/gaming, music, performance art/theatre, sports, health, and fitness, subject-matter experts/speaking engagements especially on innovation, technology/space, other creative/innovative platforms of expression or entertainment.

These performers will provide educational/entertaining programming at the World Expo and the U.S. Pavilion that embodies the geographic and cultural richness of the United States and its territories, tell the story of the United States, and engage Expo visitors through curated and improvised engagements. All performances must demonstrate a clear connection to U.S. culture. Performance acts will vary in size from speakers and solo artists to medium and large-sized groups. Performers may be well established or a new group looking to make its first splash on the world stage. Cultural Performers will be required to participate in a minimum of four performance engagements at Expo 2020 and should expect to be in country for five to seven days. Global Ties U.S. will arrange and cover costs for travel to Dubai and back to cities of origin for all cultural performers. Cultural performers will stay in a hotel near the Expo site selected and paid for by Global Ties U.S. Members of performance groups may be asked to share rooms with another group member of the same gender. All cultural performers will receive daily per diem funds to cover meals and incidental expenses. Honorarium will be determined at the time of selection and may not be applicable to all performers. Honorarium will not exceed $300 per day.

Expos, also known as World Fairs and World Expos, provides a unique space for global discussion and cooperation, and aim to be efficient instruments of progress in all areas linked to innovation and human development such as the environment, energy, health, science, and the arts. For more than 160 years, Expos have helped humanity make sense of change and navigate through difficult times by promoting education, innovation, and cooperation.

Advertising for Youth Ambassadors
Are you an energetic and friendly 18-29 year old US citizen that is interested in different cultures? If so, apply to be a Youth Ambassador for the US Pavillion at the World Expo in Dubai Sept 16, 2021 - April 2, 2022. Youth Ambassadors will have the trip to and from Dubai paid for as well as the lodging while in Dubai. Meals while working and a $300 weekly stipend will also be provided.
Youth Ambassadors can expect to have daily encounters with international visitors who may speak one or several languages. The ideal Youth Ambassador is multilingual in English and one of the following languages: Arabic, Mandarin, Farsi, Hindi, Russian, and Urdu. Additional language skills in Bengali, French, or Spanish may also be useful. While an asset, language abilities are not an application requirement for Youth Ambassadors.

Youth Ambassadors at the U.S. pavilion are the “Faces of America” to the millions of visitors at Expo serving as guides and cultural ambassadors. Youth Ambassadors offer an authentic pavilion visitor experience and have detailed knowledge of each exhibit area to enhance the visitor experience. They are also there to support the safe and comfortable movement of patrons through the venue as well as ensure assets and artifacts of the pavilion are protected and preserved.
