The below flyer has details and registration information regarding an Active Shooter Seminar Series that will be starting March 16th and offered free of charge over a virtual platform. As Emergency managers, we believe it’s critically important to help business owners and managers educate themselves on how best to plan, prepare and respond, for these kind of events that are happening with alarming frequency in our country. To that end, the Idaho Office of Emergency Management has partnered with several other states in our region and the Department of Homeland Security and several private sector businesses to develop the Private Sector Preparedness Response and Recovery Seminar Series (PSPR2). The seminar series, entitled “Mass Casualty Impact and Recovery,” will examine in monthly 90-minute sessions the best practices shared BOTH by businesses who have gone through them, and government officials forced to respond to them. This private sector led, CISA supported series, is unique in that it seeks to explore the short, mid and long-term aftermath and impacts that businesses must confront after a mass casualty shooting type event.
The Private Sector Preparedness Response and Recovery (PSPR2) Seminar Series: Mass Casualty Impact and Recovery, will examine how businesses can better prepare, respond and recover from active shooter and other mass casualty events. Each 90-minute seminar will include subject matter experts from business and the government sharing critical infrastructure best practices, valuable lessons, and planning resources and tools to assist with mass casualty impact and recovery. This series is designed for companies and organizations interested in enhancing their knowledge and understanding of the impact and recovery of a mass casualty event. The audience is any business and partner interested in learning more, and the series will be open nationally. Please see the attached flyer for more details and registration information. We hope you will share this flyer and the registration link, and QR Code, with your valued members.
Seminars are free, not cumulative and may be taken individually. Each seminar counts toward continuing education with CEU credits. The first Seminar is March 16 at 0900 PST/1200 EST. The deadline for registration is March 15th Noon Pacific.
