"In Search of Civility" is a series dedicated to the idea that truth exists, but cannot be found without a sincere exchange of ideas. Civility in our discourse, we believe, is necessary for the advancement and preservation of relationships, institutions and society. To agree, one must first disagree well. Listening actively to key stakeholders, giving your political opponents respect, the benefit of the doubt, empathy and sympathy for their motives. Ultimately, civility gives us the opportunity for our own ideas and notions to change; bringing improvements to our own lives, and even society as a whole. Civil dialogue can affect positive change, which is why we strive to help important conversations take place. We started this series in January 2021 and remain committed to discussing the challenges facing our state and communities.
