WHAT ARE LEADERSHIP BOISE ACADEMY AMBASSADORS?In the year following graduation from Leadership Boise Academy, graduates are invited to apply to be an LB Academy Ambassador.
As high school seniors, the LB Academy Ambassadors assist the volunteer LBA VP and Chamber Leadership Programs staff to deliver two LBA events—a Kick-off, entitled Setting the Stage, and the LB Academy Graduation event. LB Academy Ambassadors coordinate with LB (adult) planning teams and are invited to attend four months of Leadership Boise Sessions, thus adding to the experience and civic/leadership education they received in their original LB program. 
HISTORY OF LB ACADEMY AMBASSADORSThe "Youth Ambassador Committee" (YAC) was imagined by past LB President & LB Alum, LeAnn Naillon, and came into fruition in 2021. Now called the "LB Academy Ambassadors," the program has proven to be a valuable addition to Leadership Boise Academy and a new way for LB Academy participants to continue to learn to lead.
LB Academy participants are Juniors in High School when they go through the Program. Upon LB Academy graduation, the grads are encouraged to apply to be an LB Academy Ambassador in the following year to guide the incoming LB Academy class and work alongside the LB Academy Vice President to coordinate LB Academy engagement in sessions. LB Academy Ambassadors members now assist with the LB Academy kick-off event, Setting the Stage, led activities and exercises designed to teach valuable leadership skills and provided feedback and ideas to second year Leadership Boise Session Planning Teams. Leadership Boise Academy Ambassadors have the option to attend the Sessions (again) for added introductions to key community leaders as well as for the mentorship benefits gained from interacting with a new class of Leadership Boise participants. |
