The Arts
Enhance your visit and your life with the Boise-Nampa
MSA’s thriving arts and performance venue. A variety of
dance, instrumental and vocal music and theatre groups
offer many live performances year round.
Ballet Idaho performs September through March and
theater companies offer a variety of performances, many
suitable for the whole family. The popularity of
Boise's philharmonic orchestra continues to grow, with
sellout performances and nationally known guest artists
sprinkled through its September through May concert
season.
The Morrison Center for the performing arts is home
to the Boise Philharmonic concerts and plays gracious
host to other local and touring ballet, opera, musical
and theatrical companies and big-name entertainment.
The Boise Art Museum connects the area with the
finest contemporary work and has an increasingly
significant permanent collection. Community Arts
organizations have long thrived in Caldwell, and the
region’s newest multipurpose building—the extraordinary
Hispanic Cultural Center in Nampa—promises to bring art
and culture of all kinds.
The arts are also flourishing on the campuses of
Albertson College of Idaho, Northwest Nazarene
University and Boise State University. Public art has
found a very hospitable home in the area, as is apparent
in the numerous murals and new sculptures located
throughout Downtown Boise and on the college campuses.
Boise’s love of art has even flowed over onto the
traditionally mundane—bus benches now have bold graphic
pieces that honor the community and its history. Boise
residents can enjoy a wide array of the arts.
