New Hotel for Downtown Boise

A new multi-million dollar hotel was just unanimously approved by the Boise Planning and Zoning Commission for downtown Boise. The Inn at 500 Capitol will break ground late this summer at the corner of Myrtle and Capitol, and hopes to open its doors in December of 2016.

Boise Metro Chamber Lauds ACHD’s Fairview Avenue Decision

The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce today lauded the Commissioners of the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) for its decision to continue to delay the installation of medians as part of its Fairview corridor management plan for another year. The Chamber has been actively involved in working with businesses on Fairview Avenue to oppose the installation of medians for the negative effect it would have on the businesses located along the street.

Chamber Announces New Hire Michael Swain

The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce today announced the hiring of Michael Swain as Events & Programs Coordinator for the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. Michael will assist with the Boise Young Professionals (BYP) program and major Chamber events.

Boise Metro Chamber Endorses West Ada School District Bond Levy

The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce today endorsed the West Ada School District bond levy up for a vote on March 10th. The $96 million dollar bond would provide for the construction of four new schools to ease the overcrowding problems at many West Ada School District middle and high schools.

Boise Mayor Dave Bieter, Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter, Lt. Gov. Brad Little, U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo, U.S. Sen. Jim Risch, U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador, and Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce President Bill Connors held a press conference Thursday, Feb. 19, to discuss their lobbying effort with Secretary James to secure a new flying mission for the Idaho Air National Guard. Several elected officials, business owners, and community members have spent the past two days showing Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James why the Idaho Air National Guard shoudl be based in Boise.
