What
is an Ambassador?
An
Ambassador of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce strengthens member
involvement by educating members about the benefits and services of their
membership. The Committee offers extended business contacts to volunteers
and provides support for Business After Hours, trade shows, and business
ribbon cuttings and grand openings.
What
are my responsibilities?
Ambassadors
are the public relations arm of the Chamber. They work with the Programs
Manager to achieve an annual member retention rate of 90 percent.
Ambassadors are responsible for calling and contacting Chamber member
companies for customer service purposes such as: membership satisfaction,
promoting involvement, and updating and delivering Chamber information.
Is
there a special meeting time?
The
Ambassadors meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. for
lunch at the Chamber office. The business meeting starts at 11:45 a.m.
Ambassadors are introduced, pertinent information is discussed and award
winners are recognized at these monthly meetings. The cost of lunch is
$8.00 and reservations must be made three days prior to the meeting.
What
are Grand Openings and Ribbon Cuttings?
Ribbon
cuttings introduce members to the Chamber of Commerce. They are held at
the member’s place of business. We encourage each Ambassador to join our
Chamber Staff in welcoming new businesses to the community. All R.C. and
G.O. events are posted in advance and detailed sign up information is
provided to Ambassadors.
How
do I participate in Special Events?
Each
year there are more than 100 networking events, and the Chamber needs
volunteers to help. Volunteers may give from one hour or up to a full day
. . . it’s up to the volunteer.
What
are Contact Cards?
Contact
cards allow Ambassadors the opportunity to meet other members and provide
customer service during the first six months of membership. During
monthly meetings, Ambassadors are able to select contact cards for new,
three month, and six month members. Personal visits are required for new
and six month members, while three month cards may be contacted by phone.
What
kind of recognition is there for myself and my company?
A
point system is utilized for the purpose of identifying award winners
throughout the year. Ambassadors of the month will be featured in the
Boise Metro Business Today publication as well as the Chamber website.
The Ambassador of the Year will be announced at the Chamber Annual Meeting
and will also be featured along with their picture in the Boise Metro
Business Today as well as the Chamber Website.
How
do I obtain my Ambassador badge?
Ambassadors
will be awarded a badge based on the Ambassador point system. To
quality an Ambassador must earn 100 points by completing the following:
·
Turn in one pink card, one blue card and
one green card in one
month:
60 points
·
Attend one Ambassador Committee
Meeting: 20 points
·
Attend one Grand Opening/Ribbon
Cutting:
