Leadership Boise
The Purpose
Leadership Boise has, and continues to seek, the best, brightest, most energetic and interested
participants. As one of the oldest Chamber-sponsored leadership programs in the United
States, Leadership Boise has graduated more than 1,200 civic leaders since its inception in
1975.
The purpose of Leadership Boise is to identify these new and potential leaders and to offer a
comprehensive program that will:
Enhance and develop knowledge and understanding of our community, its complexities and its potential.
Motivate and encourage participants to assume leadership roles in the
community.
Provide an opportunity for participants to meet and exchange ideas with each other and with current community leaders.

Class size is limited and the application process is competitive. Each year, 45-48 participants are selected to join this distinguished program. Please check with your company to see if an internal process exists for selecting a candidate. Participants and their organizations must be willing to commit one day of each month to the program. Those selected will participate in all aspects of the
two-year program: attending required sessions the first year and planning Leadership Boise and
Leadership Boise Academy sessions in year two. The second year of the program is the most time-intensive due to planning meetings for upcoming sessions.
The Application Process
The application process begins every year in February. Participant selection is made on the basis of a written application and a personal interview. Applications and additional information are available at the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce; contact Erin Cave at ecave@boisechamber.org or 208.472.5258.
What Will it Cost to Invest in Boise?
Tuition for Leadership Boise is $1,350, payable upon acceptance into the class. Partial scholarships may be available for non-profits and small businesses with
fewer than six employees. A letter requesting tuition assistance should accompany the application.
