Letter from the Chair

The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce is the regional advocate for business in the Treasure Valley. It serves almost 2,000 company and individual members and acts as a catalyst between the private and public sectors in promoting economic prosperity.

At the Boise Metro Chamber, we think “regionally” in setting our priorities including promoting effective transportation, education, entrepreneurship and a pro-business environment. We are focused on quality growth that centers on the creation of new good-paying jobs and attracting businesses, all of which promotes a higher standard of living in our area. We raised $5 million to continue the mission of the Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP), an initiative that involved investments by business and local governments to meet these goals on a measurable basis.

We host many events throughout the year that focus on business and governmental issues including our Annual Economic Outlook Forum, State of the City and County addresses, Congressional Forums and CEO Speaker Series. We focus on the success of entrepreneurs, emerging growth companies and, especially, the financial success of our many small businesses in the Valley. Our programs also target this goal by providing business information, coaching, counseling, education and networking, among other things.

While our area has consistently been highly ranked as a great place to live and to do business, we are not resting on our laurels. We are working hard to enhance our business and quality of life environments for future generations. Our specific focus this year is on the following areas: regional cooperation, transportation, well-managed growth, ensuring BVEP is meeting the investor goals and providing community leadership though our new CEO’s efforts.

I encourage you to continue your membership in our organization. This is one of the very best Chambers of Commerce anywhere and I cannot imagine being in business in our region and not being a member of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. Whether you participate in the many activities of the Chamber, or not, this is the only organization in our community that is an advocate for all business and it is vital that you continue your membership to maintain our region's quality of life and grow our economic future.

Sincerely,
