Committees & Task Forces
Looking for a way to get more involved? The Boise Metro Chamber offers current members many opportunities to share their expertise and enthusiasm with the community. It's a great way to build relationships and get more out of your membership. Our current volunteer task forces and committees are listed below.
Ambassador Committee
Ambassadors assist the Chamber in retaining its membership, strengthen and enhance member involvement, and help the Chamber meet its members’ needs.

Leadership Boise Alumni Committee
Comprised of graduates from the Leadership Boise program, the LB Alumni Committee is responsible for planning and implementing social, charitable, networking and educational opportunities for Leadership Boise Alumnus.

Education/Workforce Committee
The Education/Workforce Committee adopted the following mission statement:
"Southwest Idaho will be internationally recognized as the place where business, education and government work together to develop a skilled, diverse and responsive workforce that will enhance business profitability and build quality communities."
The committee's vision and strategy are supported by three main goals:
1. Identify best practices by generating 2-way dialogue between the education and the business communities.
2. Promote relevance in education by forming partnerships between businesses and the area educators.
3. Advocate educational policies that will result in an efficient and effective transfer of skills from the classroom to the workplace.

Small Business Success Division Advisory Council
The Council provides strategic direction and hands-on program management to the programs and services of the Small Business Success Division of the Boise Chamber.

Nonprofit Council
This council convenes nonprofit members to share best practices, network, and give input on Chamber programs and services geared to nonprofit members.

Transportation Committee
The Transportation Committee of the Governmental Affairs division of the Chamber works to ensure that the Boise area has an efficient transportation system to facilitate our area’s economic development, by prioritizing projects needed to improve our area’s infrastructure.
The committee participates in the planning process of local, state and federal agencies, and has positive working relationships with officials of the Boise Airport, Valley Regional Transit, the Ada County Highway District and the Idaho Transportation Department.

State & Federal Committee
The State & Federal Committee advocates to elected officials and government agencies to ensure the Chamber’s perspective on governmental issues is fully understood. Detailed research and analysis of issues is completed in the four following ways:
1. Analyzes state and federal issues including I.N.L., environmental legislation and state appropriations.
2. Analyzes state and federal tax issues to ensure a positive business climate.
3. Analyzes general state and federal business issues that affect area organizations.
4. Analyzes worker’s compensation, unemployment insurance, health care and other human resource issues.

Local Government Committee
The Local Government Committee primarily works with elected officials and appropriate government agencies from Boise City and Ada County to ensure the Chamber’s perspective on local issues is fully understood.

Military Affairs Committee
The Military Affairs Committee works to enhance business relationships with the military operations at Mountain Home Air Force Base and the Idaho National Guard.

Energy Resources Task Force
The purpose of the Energy Resources Task Force is to review and understand the region’s current and future power generation and transmission system in relation to reliability of service and the need for additional generation capacity for the economic health of the area. The committee will focus on the following objectives:
1. Understand the current generation and delivery situation in Idaho and the region.
2. Discuss the implications of the current situation on the business community.
3. Propose and develop policy positions for the Chamber Board of Directors.
4. Sponsor an ’Energy Summit’ for the business community.
