PacificSource Hosts Business After Hours to Wrap Up Operation Thank You

After a busy day of coordinating over 100 volunteer members who delivered packets to 1,800 members, Operation Thank You volunteers and Chamber members enjoyed a well-attended Business After Hours at PacificSource Health Plans. The event was made even more enjoyable by the uncharacteristically cool July weather, which PacificSource joked they had ordered for the evening.

Western Aircraft Unveils New Expansion

Congratulations to our friends at Western Aircraft, a loyal Chamber member of ten years, for their recent expansion! The company held a ribbon cutting last Wednesday afternoon to unveil new construction that includes more than $2.3 million in new facilities and more than $2.4 million in facility improvements and specialized tooling. Additionally, due to the added business, Western Aircraft has increased staffing from 150 to 200 employees.

Mike Simpson for his support of H.R. 4450, the Travel Promotion, Enhancement, and Modernization Act of 2014. We were pleased to hear that the bill passed the House yesterday and the Senate version could be up for consideration as early as this week.

BYP Hosts "Do Good. Have Fun." Project & Cleans Up Local Park

The Boise Young Professionals (BYP) lead  more than 50 volunteers in a revitalization of the Jefferson Street Community Garden this Saturday, July 19th at 21st & Jefferson St. in Boise. The garden is managed by Neighborhood Housing Services.

Olympic Gold Medalist Dara Torres to Headline Chamber’s 131st Annual Gala Dinner

The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce today announced that Olympic gold medalist swimmer Dara Torres will headline the Chamber’s 131st Annual Gala Dinner on Tuesday, October 7th, 2014 at the Boise Centre. Torres competed in five Summer Olympic Games, becoming the first U.S. swimmer to ever do so, as well as the oldest swimmer to ever compete at age 41.
