T.I.P.S. for Growing Your Business

If you are one of our current Chamber members and looking to expand your network or grow your contacts in order to help your business, our T.I.P.S. (Tops in Professional Sales) Leads Program could be a great fit for you. These are small groups that meet weekly all over the Boise Valley area to exchange current business information of interest to each other in the form of leads, as well as inform fellow group members about other businesses in the community. One participant per industry per group is allowed, and groups have a minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 40 members.

Blair Rosenthal is a member of the T.I.P.S. Noon group, led by Christina Williams and currently meeting on Wednesdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Dave & Buster's. Blair is with Paragon Corporate Housing, a company offering fully-furnished suites throughout the Boise Valley as well as multiple states. Paragon's suites are an ideal alternative to visitors or recently relocated individuals who don't want to live in a hotel or sign a lease right away.

Blair uses her T.I.P.S. group members as more than just acquaintances who will keep her company in mind when making recommendations for living situations in Boise. She sees her group members as trusted resources in services and connections. "I'm more likely to go to them for referrals because I trust their network and understand the way they do business," Blair says.

"We always start our weekly meetings with an ice-breaker," Blair says. "It's a way for us to get to know each other on a personal level, which helps me to understand them and what they're about. It also helps me learn how they represent themselves in a business setting."

Following their short ice-breaker, Blair says her group might discuss points of interest or events that may pertain to businesses in the community or they might hear from a guest presenter. "Yesterday we heard a helpful presentation about being your own CEO at times- the importance of treating your employees with respect and teaching them skills to rise above their current job positions. Also, you need to be willing to delegate so you can grow your business." Blair says, "The presenter had a lot of thoughtful and constructive points."

"I enjoy attending my group on Wednesdays, it's a nice way to break up the work day," Blair adds. "They motivate me. People are energized by people- especially when it's a trusted group of friends and Chamber members."
