Stokin’ Joe’s Beverages Launches New Program to Fight Hunger

Over 250,000 Idahoans do not have sufficient food to live a healthy lifestyle.  Stokin’ Joe’s Beverages, a coffee company based out of Twin Falls, has formed a coalition with other western businesses to fight hunger by creating of a cash donation program.  The program, called Ninety9 Down, will provide meals to the hungry.  Here’s how it works: Stokin’ Joe’s will sell gift boxes containing coffee from Silver Cup Roasters in Kellogg, ID, apparel with the Ninety9 Down logo, and organic snack bars from This Bar Saves Lives, based in Venice, CA.  Proceeds from the boxes will be donated to the Idaho Food Bank.

Purchasing other products from the Stokin’ Joe’s website will also provide meals.    Apparel, coffee, and snack bars are sold individually online.  Twenty-five percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Idaho Foodbank, which will use the funds to purchase meals for hungry Idahoans.

Ninety9 Down is a three phase program, with the first phase targeted at easing hunger pains in Idaho through donations to the Idaho Foodbank.  The second phase will aim to fight hunger on the national level through a partnership with Feed America, the largest foodbank in the country.  The third phase, not yet fully developed, will be global.
