Idaho Statesman Celebrates 150th Anniversary & 100+ Years of Chamber Membership

On July 26th, one of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce’s original members, the Idaho Statesman, will celebrate its 150th anniversary.

From its beginning the Statesman has been committed to the community. They continue to deliver the news and information that matters most to friends and neighbors, and help Treasure Valley businesses grow with their advertising solutions. And while most of the Staesman’s readership can be found within the Boise area, today the local news reported by this paper can literally be read from any corner of the world.

In celebrating our local newspaper’s 150th anniversary, we recognize that a debt of gratitude is owed not only to its original publisher and editor James Reynolds, but also to the thousands of people who have kept the Idaho Statesman printing day in and day out, never missing an edition, since 1864.

Join us tomorrow, July 22nd at 12:00 p.m. for our next CEO Speaker Series event featuring Pat Talamantes, President & CEO of The McClatchy Company, the parent company of the Statesman. This event is presented by Bank of America and will be hosted by The Grove Hotel.

As one of our original members, the Boise Chamber thanks the Statesman for over one hundred years of membership and support of the Chamber, as well as the entire Boise Valley community.
