Idaho Chamber Alliance's Lobbyist Developing Plan for Local Option Sales Tax

via Idaho Business Review

John Watts, a lobbyist for the Idaho Chamber Alliance (of which the Boise Chamber is an active member), is working with Sen. Chuck Winder (R-Boise) on a more acceptable version of a local option sales tax increase. Money raised from this tax increase could help cover utility costs and infrastructure or other public amenities like parks, projects that would help attract more businesses to Idaho.

“The whole reason the Chamber Alliance is involved in this is because our jobs as chambers of commerce is to recruit jobs into our community,” said Watts, who said the local chambers got behind the issue because their local cities and counties were advocating for it.
