Gardner Co. Unveils Proposal for Parcel B

The Gardner Co. has just submitted a development proposal to the City of Boise's planning and development department to build two hotels and an 800-space parking garage on Parcel B, the five acre lot between 11th, 13th, Myrtle, and Front Streets. The Greater Boise Auditorium District (GBAD) owns Parcel B and signed a development exploration agreement with Gardner Co. this past April. 

In the past three months, Boise developers Jared Smith, Rafanelli and Nahas, and Brian Obie have unveiled plans for their own downtown hotel projects. Gardner Co.'s plan brings the number of proposed downtown hotel developments to five. The GBAD says that hotel occupancy and room rates were at a record high this past year in Boise, therefore the city could definitely benefit from five new hotels.
