Chamber Announces New Board Chair & Chair-Elect

Kris J. Ormseth, Managing Partner of Stoel Rives LLP’s Boise office, is the new 2015 Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board of Directors. The Chamber also announced the selection of Ann Nelson, Audit Partner, KPMG, LLP, as Chair-Elect of the Board. Nelson will take over as Chair in 2016.

Through his practice, Ormseth represents significant public and private businesses in manufacturing, energy, technology, health care, financial services, real estate development and other industries. Kris also devotes a portion of his practice to representing promising emerging businesses. He has been listed for the past ten years in Chambers USA as one of “America’s Leading Lawyers for Business”; as a "Mountain States Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine; and in Best Lawyers in America.

Ormseth is active in the Boise community. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance since 2005 and was President of the organization in 2010. He also serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Treasure Valley YMCA. Ormseth has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce since 2007. Ormseth earned a B.A. from Stanford University and his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.

Ann Nelson has served as the Chamber’s Treasurer since 2012. Nelson has worked in public accounting for thirty-two years, is a partner in KPMG’s Boise/Seattle Audit practice, and is the Global and U.S. partner-in charge of KPMG’s U.S. Forest Products practice. Nelson graduated from the University of Idaho  with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Accounting emphasis. She is a CPA, holding licenses in Idaho, Washington and Oregon. She is currently a member of the University of Idaho College of Business and Economics Advisory Board.

Scott Kreiling, President, Regence BlueShield of Idaho, is the Chamber’s outgoing Chairman of the Board. Scott will continue on the Board as Immediate Past Chair.
