Boise Young Professionals Re-launch Board Training Program

Boise Young Professionals is re-launching a one-of-a-kind board training program designed to connect area professionals with organizations in need of commission, committee, or board support. 
 
The three-week training program, B|On Board, is designed to help participants identify interests, demystify board service, learn skills needed for service opportunities, and connect with Idaho organizations who are seeking support.

Cost: B|On Board is open to all members of the community with the goal of bolstering volunteer support for community programs. The cost is $50 for BYP members and dues-paying Leadership Boise Alumni or $75 for non-BYP members.

Week 1 – April 22
Participants will explore the different kinds of board service with a panel discussion featuring corporate, government and nonprofit board members from Idaho organizations.

Week 2 – April 29
Participants will launch into a night of rapid-fire, round robin style trainings. Six different local experts will be teaching 15-minute sessions on different skills needed for volunteer, committee and board service.

Organization & Work/Life Balance: Jason Sears, Big Brothers Big Sisters

Week 3 – May 6
The final evening of the B|On Board series is all about applying new skills. Participants will have one-on-one mock interviews with area board members and professionals. Then, the training will wrap up with a reception and networking fair. Participants will connect with area organizations seeking volunteers, committee members and board members.
