Boise Chamber Receives Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve Seven Seals Award

The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce is the proud recipient of the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) Seven Seals Award. In a ceremony at the Hero2Hired military hiring fair at the Ford Idaho Center on Tuesday, September 9th, the Chamber was recognized for its sustained work in supporting the employment of military personnel throughout the Boise community.

The Seven Seals Award is the broadest and most inclusive award given by ESGR and is presented at the discretion of the State Chair or by ESGR senior leadership. The award is in recognition of significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission, to include the efforts of the more than 4,700 volunteers who carry out ESGR’s mission across the Nation on a daily basis. ESGR facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve.

“Each year, it has been an honor to be a part of this program that tries to give back something to those who have given so much,” said Bill Connors, President & CEO, Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. “There are two kinds of heroes who show up at this event every year: our military veterans and our local businesses who actively recruit these men and women of the armed forces into their workforces. Of all the events on the annual Boise Chamber calendar, Hero2Hired day is particularly special.”

The Boise Metro Chamber has been an active co-organizer and sponsor of the Hiring our Heroes and Hero2Hired military hiring fairs for military veterans, National Guard and Reserve, active duty military, and their families. The Chamber has also co-organized and sponsored two PTSD workshops to educate employers and college faculty members on how to better understand and work with returning military veterans to create a stronger workforce in the Boise Valley.
