Boise Chamber Honored as ACCE Chamber of the Year Finalist

We are thrilled to announce that the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce is an ACCE (American Chamber of Commerce Executives) Chamber of the Year Finalist! Chamber of the Year is the nation’s only award recognizing the dual role chambers have in leading businesses and communities. This achievement comes in a year during which ACCE received a record number of applications from Chambers across the country.

Since 2007, ACCE has annually recognized up to five chambers with the Chamber of the Year Award for excellence in operations, member services, and community leadership. Chambers honored with the Chamber of the Year designation have not only demonstrated organizational strength, but also have made an impact on key community priorities such as education, transportation, business development, and quality of life.

“Awards are always nice, but they are especially meaningful when such recognition comes from your peers.  This honor highlights the great employees, Board, volunteers, and members that comprise the Boise Chamber family,” said Bill Connors, President and CEO of the Boise Metro Chamber.

The Chamber of the Year award involves a multi-stage process. It begins with the ACCE Operations Survey, through which the Boise Metro Chamber qualified to complete by meeting thresholds in at least four of six key performance areas including net revenue, net assets, reserve funds, membership account retention, and membership dollar retention. After meeting the Operations Survey criteria, the Boise Metro Chamber submitted a written application highlighting organizational excellence, member services, and programs. The final step of the process is an in-person interview.

The Boise Metro Chamber is a finalist in Category 4 and will complete against three other finalists; the Association of Washington Business, Commerce Lexington (KY) Incorporated, and the Toledo (OH) Regional Chamber of Commerce. The competition category is based on annual revenue, member accounts, service area population, number of businesses in the service area, and restricted revenue as a percentage of total revenue.

The winners will be announced at the annual ACCE Annual Convention in Cincinnati on August 13th.
