Health Plans
Boise Metro Chamber has teamed with Blue Cross of Idaho and
Regence BlueShield to offer cost-effective healthcare choices to
Chamber members.
Making health insurance more
affordable to small- and mid-sized businesses, the Boise Metro
Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Blue Cross of Idaho and
Regence BlueShield of Idaho, is offering health insurance plans
to its members.
The plans give
Chamber members a discount on health plans for their employees.
The Regence BlueShield Chamber plan (called Regence Chamber
Select) and Blue Cross of Idaho Chamber plan (called Chamber
Blue) each offer discounts of up to 22 percent to qualified
Chamber members.
Regence
Chamber Select became available March 1 to Chamber members
across the state including members in Boise, Eagle, Meridian,
Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna and Emmett. Chamber Blue should be
available to chamber members in Boise April 1 and will expand
throughout the greater Treasure Valley in the coming months.
The Regence
Chamber Select and Chamber Blue plans differ from each other in
several ways. Regence Chamber Select is aimed at the general
business population and uses local care providers and hospitals.
Any chamber of commerce member in Idaho may purchase Regence
Chamber Select. It offers several features at no additional
cost, including a health coach to educate employees on how to
best manage their health and health benefits plan. Regence
Chamber Select also offers maternity support and education
resources.
Chamber Blue
targets the uninsured and will only be available to companies
that have not offered health coverage for the past 24 months.
Blue Cross of Idaho has reached out to area hospitals, health
care providers and brokers, who have all agreed to discounted
fees in order to keep the costs down for chamber members. Blue
Cross of Idaho is also lowering its administrative fees in an
effort to keep Chamber Blue costs as low as possible. Chamber
Blue also adds vision and eye care discounts, maternity support
and health and fitness resources.
